Ambassadors (Melissa, Chad, Matthew and Todd) on Knowing Where Your Food Comes From

By Joe Heitzeberg - Co-founder and CEO of Crowd Cow. I'm on Instagram at @jheitzeb.

Meet some of the people who inspire us. Chefs, athletes and musicians whose life journeys are driven by adventure, curiosity and authentic connection. They are Modern Carnivores from all walks of life united in the belief that food is one of the great pleasures in life ― and by seeking out the very best and by being closer to the source of their food, they make the world a better place.

Q: Why is it important for you to know where your food comes from?

A: What our food eats is also consumed by us. How the animals are treated also greatly impacts the meat we ultimately eat. Responsibly sourced meat should be important to everyone.

Melissa is a carnivore, who loves to cook and grill for her family and friends. She shares her knowledge and teaches others to grill across her social media channels and website. When she’s not grilling, she works as a full time pharmacist.

Q: Why is it important for you to know where your food comes from?

A: I think the more important question is, why wouldn't you want to know where your food comes from. Especially meat!

Chad is a backyard bbq enthusiast and lover of all things live-fire! He can usually be found in the kitchen, or in front of one of his many grills.

Q: Why is it important for you to know where your food comes from?

A: For me, serving BBQ is about the opportunity to connect with people and make them smile. Crowd Cow provides the opportunity to connect with the meat by knowing where and from whom it is coming from! That’s a pretty cool connection that you just don’t find at your local market or butcher!

Matt is a high school teacher and credits his pupils the reason he started Groark Boys’ BBQ! With a mission to not only serve delicious Q, Matt has also used this passion to raise thousands for charities in need!

Todd Colondro
Q: Why is it important for you to know where your food comes from?

A: Quality ingredients allow me to cook my best, enjoy food the most, and feel confident I'm eating as responsibly as I can.

Todd is a man of many hobbies; from art, to shoe collecting, to classic cars. However, his passion is cooking up a great meal.
